Sacrifices to be addressed to Apple Inc, c/o Steph Jobs, Cupertino...

So...

Despite all the warnings and wise words, and a month of studying how completely ridiculous the whole technological world really is, I pretty much impulse bought an iPhone today. If by impulse buy, you mean agonized over getting one for months and then signed up for a contract that its possible that I wont be able to afford in the future, then yes, yes I did.

But that got me thinking, about how long before this beloved tool of mine will just become a rather expensive paper weight. With the new iPhone software update being delivered to the braying masses shortly, there is of course much speculation about what will actually be supported in this new update, namely the now 3 year old original 2G iPhones.

Twitter user Ven00m sent off an email to Apple Ceo, Steve Jobs, about the new software supporting the older iPhones. Steve "Sith Lord" Jobs replyed with a very curt "Sorry, No".

So not even 3 years after being released, the original iPhone is quietly being shown the backdoor. You dont dump a child after 3 years just because you found something better, but the similar commitment and dedication we seem to put into our iPhones doesnt seem to be given the same respect.

My plan for my phone goes for 24 months, will my precious little shiny baby be hideously outdated in this time? Will it be quietly barred service, get out of here Grandpa and take your paisley suspenders with you? Not got anything against paisley suspenders... Love em.

I just feel Stevie baby is getting a little big for his boots. Its all very well to sit on your ivory tower, wearing your bullet proof turtle neck and having your temples rubbed by cybernetically advanced robotic beings that run purely on your inflated sense of self worth, but with what feels like a new device every 15 minutes, can you cut us some slack Steve?
