Jessie-dog

2/1/2012

Jessie is the oldest dog that we have. We got him as a 3 week old puppy when I was year 7, I always remember lying on the couch home sick from school, and my dad poked him around the lounge room doors; I thought I was delirious. He's been through a lot: been run over by the car and had one of his back legs plated, and he ate a fox bait the night I was home alone baby sitting my brothers, and spent the entire night vomiting behind the couch, biting anyone that tried to get near him.

Now that we have Tigga, Jessie has been the ever patient mentor to the insane puppy, always calm, even when Tigga is literally hanging by his teeth off Jessie's neck jowls.

Jessie is now roughly the weight of a small elephant, and serves as a slow moving coffee table.

Christmas on the closed ward.

It's a brand new year. But everything is still sort of the same. Worked Christmas day at Bloomfield, a lot of sitting around, making sure presents weren't full of knives or other fun contraband, and watching as 13 chronic schizophrenics stuffed themselves with reprocessed ham.

Was going to go to Peats Ridge, but I felt so exhausted, so I stayed in Orange and...

Went and volunteered to work.

Wait.

Something is not right here.

On one hand, public holiday bonus rates.

On the... other...

I spent New Years Day in a dementia ward.

I did go to the fireworks at Waratahs on NYE though.

The following photograph is of me partying hard on New Years Day. Ladies, control yourselves.

Which brings me to my next topic:

This year, i'm going to do a 365 project. That is, I'm going to post a unique photo everyday, along with a little story to go with it. Because I actually want to get this to work, and I seem to be forever running out of time, i'm going to be lenient, and allow photos from days when I took a lot to creep into the days that I didn't take any. It's just something to try to accomplish every day.

So, this is my first photo:

1/1/2012

After a day spent being beat up by crazy old people, it took me half an hour to find what I needed to have a little afternoon New Years Day celebration at home. You have no idea how hard it is to find a prismatic party hat on a public holiday in a country town.

Until tomorrow.

Sheep don't graze.

Well, today was a good day. And not just because it was the first day in a week and a half that ive been able to stay conscious for more than an hour (whooping cough, I will make you my bitch).

It was just nice. Started work on my Weeping Angel costume, hope it turns out well. Fingers crossed. When I go to Bathurst, I might go to Spotlight, get some fabric paint. Yeah boi.

I'll be back working soon! Huzzzooozooozooo for money, boo for having to work, boo yashaka for being occupied again though.

Some tunes and stuff:

Everyone knows Teardrop by Massive Attack, if you don't then you're a communist and I hate you.
I've been listening to the whole Mezzanine album on repeat lately, daymn it's still good. If I could be stranded on a desert island i'd probably choose to take this album with me. Or maybe UNKLE's Psyence Fiction.

I'd say i'm in a Trip Hop phase... but that phase has gone on for about 2 years now. So maybe it's time to admit it to my parents.

Herrrrnnnnnngggghhhh...

So now I'm back in Orange. Two car trips, packed to the roof with all the stupid junk i've collected in my room over the year. I dont think i'm going back next year. When I tell people that, I always get asked why, why drop out? 'Photography would be so much fun", they say, "Why drop out?"

I dont know. I dont like to spend too long on one thing. I dont want to be a professional photographer. I want to be closer to home comforts, and my old work. I've got other things I would prefer to do. I was bored at Wagga. Brain felt like mush. Who knows.

Homonyms

Our most recent assignment was 'Homonyms' where we had to make 3 photos with at least one set of homonyms or homophones, words that sound the same but mean some thing different.

Choose Life by movieclips

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin can openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

Everyone has to have some sort of philosophy on their life. Even if you're not some navel gazing twat. Even if you claim to be an honest working, meat and two veg, trash journalism watching, weekend sport playing family man, you've got some sort of raison d'etre brewing away inside, making you get up in the morning.
